The Paid Membership Subscriptions plugin is a new WordPress membership plugin that makes adding membership features to a website more affordable.
There is a free version, but the Pro version has the features needed for most websites.
Available features include:
Available integrations include:
Membership features do 3 things on a website:
Organizations have “members.” Membership features may make sense for an organization website.
Small businesses and Solopreneurs have different customer segments. Membership features on a business website are a way to grow niche segments and deliver better value in those segments.
My client The Judicial Friends Association (JFA) asked me to move their annual membership registration process online on the new website I’m developing for them.
JFA has a somewhat unique membership requirement. They do a calendar year membership term. This means membership each year expires on December 31st. So if you pay and become a member on November 1st 2025, you have to pay again for next years membership on January 1st 2026.
I used the Fixed Period Membership feature to meet this requirement.
Here’s an overview of how I set this up:
First, I organized the user experience into two segments:
I created contextual Login and Logout buttons that appear in the site main navigation. The Login button appears to visitors who are not logged in. And, the Logout button appears to visitors who are logged in.
Next, I added contextual menu links to the Main Menu.

There are 8 default emails that the Paid Membership Subscriptions plugin provides.
I created a 8 Free Membership Website Email Templates PDF file. Click here to get the templates.
Membership features can add real value and benefits to a website. The Paid Memberships Subscriptions plugin is a well-made membership tool.
One thing… the name is too close to the Paid Memberships Pro plugin in my opinion.
Cheers!
